Stephen Tjoa is a highly experienced chief talent officer who has been in the professional services industry as head of HR for close to three decades. He is a passionate advocate for human-centred innovations and connections as well as in bringing transformative experiences to benefit organisational health and facilitate an unforgettable people experience throughout the employee life-cycle. 

The first partner to be admitted as a dedicated people professional in the Singapore partnership in 2005, Stephen has been responsible for building a strong people brand from 2006 to 2015 during which the firm garnered recognition for its progressive game-changing people initiatives. KPMG secured its place every year among the best employers nationally. In 2010, he received the national HR Leader award bestowed by the Singapore Human Resource Institute.

As the head of HR at KPMG, Stephen built up.a team of 50 HR professionals that successfully delivered KPMG's enormous talent acquisition and staff engagement needs in line with the growing demands and complexities of the business.

Stephen has also served in not-for-profit advisory boards for the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC), the Employer Alliance Group led by Claire Chiang of Banyan Tree, and prior to its inclusion to the Tripartite Association for Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP), and finally, as Chairman of the Singapore Polytechnic Business School Advisory Board for 5 years.
